Set up in 1934, Tapton Park is arguably one of the best municipal golf courses in England. At just over 6, 000 yards, the picturesque 18-hole Old Course with five dog-leg holes is sculptured out of undulating parkland with a signature fifth hole measuring 625 yards. The old course is agreed by many to be a true test of golf. Along with the 18-hole Course, Tapton park has two other courses. A 9-hole Academy Course, called The Dobbin Clough, aimed at the intermediate standard player, and the Pitch and Putt Course for beginners and family users.
