read moreAll patients on prescription medication require a veterinary check up at least every 6 months. The price for the check up will be 30.79. For certain conditions, where the medication has only just begun, or if the patient is not stable, then the check ups may need to be more frequent. The veterinary surgeon in charge of your pet will inform you as to how frequently they would like to see you. Written prescriptions are also available on request, enabling you to obtain your medications from other pharmacies.

read moreHere at Southfields Vets we have an in house laboratory in which we are able to test blood samples, urine samples and cell samples. We have both a haematology machine which allows assessment of our patients' blood cells and a biochemistry machine which assesses our patients' organ function. We can run these tests within 20 minutes so can evaluate your pets' health and implement appropriate treatment quickly and efficiently. In addition, before we perform any general anaesthetic we offer a screening blood test so that we can make the anaesthetic as safe as possible.

read moreWe have consultations available throughout the day for health checks, vaccinations, illness or injury, microchips and any other concerns you may have. We have three consultation rooms so we can usually get you in to see a vet the same day. Please ring us at the practice to speak to one of our lovely receptionists to make an appointment.

read moreIn 2013, we had a huge update to Southfields' Diagnostic Imaging suite - we went Digital! Our new X-ray system is state of the art, allowing us to analyse our radiographs in more detail, and to email them to referral centres for specialist opinions where needed. The following year we purchased a new Ultrasound system, also helping us to see what is going on inside our furry patients. Digital radiography as this uses less radiation than old-style photographic film, and the results are available quickly.
