read moreOriginally located in Penn, in 1908 the Club moved to our current home in Tettenhall where Harry Vardon - six time winner of The Open Championship - designed the original layout. Though, in subsequent years, the course has been updated by such luminaries as Harry Colt, James Braid and more recently Donald Steele, Vardon's original design remains. Recognised as a challenge requiring both skill and imagination, over the last one hundred years the golf course has witnessed the play of many top professionals including, in the early days Harry Vardon and George Duncan, Ted Ray and Sandy Herd.

read moreThe green is reachable in two, but two long and accurate shots are needed to be on the green. The prevailing wind will take the ball left to right but if it's behind you and there's some run on the fairway - go for it. With the Out of Bounds on the right, the ideal tee shot is to the left side of the fairway with a little bit of fade to set up for a good second shot into the green. It's important not to go short because it's a long narrow green 34 yards deep. Your drive should be slightly left to avoid the Out of Bounds and a nice easy swing should take your ball onto the fairway over the lane.
