Somerset Cricket Museum
Museum & Art Gallery in Taunton, Somerset
The building known as the Priory Barn has had many alterations and additions throughout its long history. The major portion of the structure can be interpreted as work of the late 15th or early sixteenth centuries. Since the Dissolution in the reign of Henry VIII, after which monastic buildings throughout the land were almost totally demolished, it was only in 2004 that the exact location of the Priory was discovered during work on foundations for a new block of flats.

read moreThe museum is pleased to be a part of the Somerset County Cricket Club family, helping to make the Cooper Associates County Ground one of the most attractive and welcoming cricket grounds in England. The ground and the museum are in the heart of Taunton, less than ten minutes walk from the main line railway station and the bus station and five minutes walk from the heart of the County Town's main shopping centre. Although there are no physical barriers between the Somerset County Cricket Ground and the museum buildings we are completely separate organisations.
