Lindsay Martin and his wife Norma began the company of Selwood Funeral Directors in 1974. It is now the oldest created, independent, family-run and owned funeral directors in Angus. Through the years we currently have out-grown two premises, and in 1986 opened our existing office at 77-79 Dundee Street, Carnoustie, with a service room seating 90 mourners, two rest rooms and purpose-built mortuary. Selwood is a member of the National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD) the British Institute of Funeral Directors (BIFD) and the Society of Allied and Independent Funeral Directors (SAIF)

read moreA funeral director will call at your home when convenient to you, and make all the necessary arrangements, or if you prefer to meet with the funeral director to discuss the arrangements, we have a private lounge to do so. We can arrange for any type of religious funeral service regardless of denomination, or a civil ceremony. When required, repatriation from abroad can be arranged, taking care of all documentation. Our service rooms have seating for 90 (in Carnoustie) or 50 (in Monifieth). Both are equipped with an organ and have the facility for playing CDs or audio cassettes.
