After being turned away from nearly every shoe manufacturer in Northamptonshire and ready to throw in the towel, he found himself in a huge mahogany waiting room. With rows of important-looking portraits staring menacingly down upon him a large man with a large smile on his face burst into the room and asked him what he wanted.
