Rugby Theatre is one of the top ten amateur theatres in the country. Our 10 main productions each year are often compared to professional performances. We currently have our own intimate 273 seat theatre putting on a huge array of live performances from classical drama to modern plays, from farce to big budget musicals. Each year we currently have a spectacular youth production with over one hundred young people performing. Our theatre hosts many outside bookings from opera to kids's dancing extravaganzas; from old time music halls to celebrity speakers.

It is essential for the enjoyment of the audience that the actors look and feel like the characters they are portraying. Members of the Lighting Group are involved in activities such as design, rigging and operating of the lighting, special effects for stage shows; preparation, setting up and projection of films; maintenance, testing and modifications to the mains & low voltage electrical systems and equipment within the three buildings.
