Should you require a carrier to bring your goods to sale we have a list of approved carriers who will be able to help. Once goods are consigned for sale, you will be given a receipt with a vendor number, this is your unique client number which is used to identify your goods as they proceed through the sale process. All communication with you from receipt to settlement statement will include this number.
Collectables
read moreThis category includes a wide variety of collectables from cameras to vintage posters, toys, memorabilia etc. A photographic autograph postcard after an original taken by JW Barker from RMS Carpathia, with survivors. Our research uncovered that the photographer, J.W. Barker was a passenger on board Carpathia, and gave the photograph to John McQuair, a waiter on board the Carpathia, who subsequently mailed it home to his family in the form of a postcard. This type of research uncovering connections authenticates such items and provides excellent provenance for collectors.
Wines & spirits
read moreWhen a bottle of Lagavulin whisky turned up in a client's garage, we were immediately aware of it's potential value. However with an item like this there are many considerations, not least the fact that there are many fakes on the market. Consequently we undertook a period of research which involved sending the bottle for carbon dating to verify the age of the contents and researching the source of the whisky. The investment market for fine wines and whisky is buoyant but suspicious, with the support of this research buyers had confidence to bid and the whisky realised a sale price of 11,500.
Militaria
read moreOn the face of it, this would appear to be a fairly mainstream group of medals, however, it is in fact a unique group owing to the recipient being the only holder of three bars to a Long Service medal which no other member of the Observer Corps ever received. Without the extra bar the medals would have been worth around 300, however the confirmation that he was entitled to these bars drove the final hammer price to 4,600. With all medals the addition of any ephemera allows collectors more avenues of research and offers a more complete story behind the recipient and can add substantially to the value.

Oriental
read moreThis Chinese porcelain monkey vase turned up in a client's property and was being used as a stick stand in a hallway. Often items can be largely unnoticed as they become part of the fabric of a family home and used for domestic purposes. This vase turned out to be a very expensive stick stand and sold for 3,200!
