About Us
read moreBuilt in 1877 for a wealthy wine merchant the Pinegrove Hotel has many original features such as the tiled entrance hall and ornate cornices. One of our greatest features is a beautiful stained-glass window which was added to the first-floor landing in 1892. Before it became the Pinegrove, the victorian property was once owned by the Bishop of Carlisle, who used it as a 'Monks Haven'. At this time it was known as Pencarl House. The original Victorian house was extended in the 1980s to create additional rooms and a function room, while trying to maintain its period feel.
