About Us
read moreAt NCW it is our aim to ensure there are no barriers to success for any child with a vision impairment. The combination of tailored learning, extra-curricular experiences and the immense support offered by staff and peers means that every child has the opportunity to achieve their very best potential. The College accepts students with a wide range of visual impairments and some students have additional needs such as a hearing impairment, Asperger's Syndrome or have limited mobility. Places are usually funded by the student's Local Authority.
Admissions
read moreIf you have had a good look around our website and would like to find out more, please do get in touch. It is wise to begin the process as early as possible to allow sufficient time for the funding process. We recommend that potential students attend their assessment at least 12 months before their intended date, if that is possible. If you are thinking about NCW for transition into Year 7 it is appropriate to start investigating your options while the child is still in Year 4. It is important that NCW is named on the as your preferred choice of school on EHCPs and in the school transition process.
Services
read moreAt NCW we like to share our facilities and services, both with the local community and the wider world - and in particular to benefit those who are vision impaired. Our facilities can be hired individually or in different combinations for very competitive prices. We have hosted recreational breaks for charities, training sessions for local football teams and swimming instructors running their own swimming lesson courses. As a hub for VI learning in the UK, our expertise and resources are a very valuable asset.
