In 1998 we were extremely fortunate to have been introduced to (and subsequently accepted as students of) Patrick Beaumont Kyoshi from Athlone in Ireland. Since this time we currently have trained and studied with dedication and determination culminating in being officially accepted into the Matsubayashi-ryu 'family' in 2009. At present we're the only dojo of this style operating in England, however it is our hope that we can successfully promote our art and, in time, more people will come to be capable to appreciate the true 'way' of Matsubayashi-ryu karate-do.

read moreOur dojo is tucked away in the sunniest town in England, Eastbourne. We are a small, friendly club, run on a 'not for profit' basis that puts everything it makes straight back into the club. Our two main teachers have well over 40+ years experience between them and create a very friendly and safe environment for students aged from 5 - 95! The style of karate we practice originates from a small island off the coast of Japan called Okinawa, and both our teachers and students visit the island annually to train with the Masters.
