Multiprint's parent firm, Walsall Leather Company ltd, can trace its history back to 1883. It was purchased by the Stephens family in 1928 and traded as suppliers to the cobbler's trade until after the Second World War. Walsall Leather Company ltd had two retail premises, one in Walsall and one in Willenhall until 1962 when it brought both together in the building it still occupies in Walsall. The retail trade in these days was solely luggage, fancy leather goods and handbags but in 1978 we moved into the Sports Retail trade under the trading name of Stephens Sports.
