Originally Karen Jones trained as a Horse Riding instructor and qualifiesd as a B. H. S. A. I. In 1977. Teaching has always remained in my blood and teaching people to ride was far more difficult than teaching people to dance. You have to contend with an animal that may or may not follow the instruction of the rider so there was alway a possibility of an element of surprise. In 1997 Karen Jones qualified as an I. D. T. A. Instructor. In the year 2000 her dance Islands In the Stream won her the Line dancer magazine Crystal Boot award for finest Dance of the Year and again in 2007 it won Dance of the Decade.
