Set amidst the towering Victorian villas of Southport's premier domestic area - Hesketh Park - is Hesketh Golf Club, the town's oldest golf club, established in 1885. Standing alone on the crest of a tall sandhill, the clubhouse dominates the golf course, and the surrounding district. The course is at the northern end of S-W Lancashire's sand dune system, which is the home of so many great golf courses. Professional championship golf has been played on these famous old links from the club's earliest days, and the course is regularly used as a final qualifying course when The Open is played at Royal Birkdale.

read moreHesketh is the oldest golf club in Southport, established in 1885. The course is predominantly links in nature and Championship golf has been played at Hesketh from the early days. We are currently accepting visitor bookings and would be deligthed to welcome you to Hesketh Golf Club. Hesketh Golf Club have accommodated us twice; both times on a Sunday. Green fees are more than fair, the course is great; and the whole experience from the excellent office, to catering to bar is a real treat. We will definitely be back!

read morePart links, part parkland sculpted through mature sand dunes, the club is set amongst the Victorian villas of the residential area of Churchtown, Southport. Course designers have included George Lowe, the designer of the original Royal Birkdale and Royal Lytham courses as well as the illustrious James Braid. Hesketh sits beside a nationally renowned nature reserve and is designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest. Seabirds and other wildlife provide an added attraction for visitors. Professional Championship golf has been played at Hesketh from the early days.

read moreWe as a team aspire to reach our goals so that we are able to provide a course that not only are we proud of but one where members and visitors alike will enjoy playing. Between the 6 full time members of staff we have a combined service to Hesketh of nearly 70 years. Our mantra is to provide a course that is testing but above all enjoyable to all standards of player. In 1990 I began my greenkeeping career at Yelverton GC in Devon, where I rose to Deputy Head. In 1996 I returned to Scotland to become Deputy at Machrihanish and in 1997 I became Course Manager.

Sun Protection
read moreHesketh Golf Club is proud to be recognised as a Sun Protection Accredited club, having signed up to the Slip! Slap! Swing! sun protection campaign for golf. This summer, as part of our overall duty of care, we will be raising awareness of sun protection, offering advice on how to reduce the risk of skin cancer to all our members and staff. We have joined a growing community of golf clubs who are taking the health of members seriously. Skin cancer is preventable, but is now at epidemic levels, so the question is if not, why not?

Built in 1902 it provides a fantastic setting for members and visitors alike, to enjoy excellent facilities before and after golf. Our friendly and professional Bar & Catering lead by our House Manager Karen Courtney ensure that members and visitors alike receive a warm welcome.

read more18, 27 or 36 Hole packages are all available subject to availabilty. Scott Astin our Club Professional is also available for clinics or demonstrations on the Driving Range before play. Our Driving Range is open throughout the Summer, and provides the perfect opportunity for your group to sharpen their game ahead of a days golf. From the classic Coffee and Bacon Rolls all the way to our round fuelling 18 Hole Breakfast. There will always be something for everyone. From a simple yet delicious home cooked meal all the way to our Fine Dining experience up in the modern yet elegant Dining Room.
