read moreNorthover Heavy Logistics (NHL) opened in 1991. From the beginning, our aim has been to supply a top quality, professional heavy haulage and consultancy service. Our knowledge of the rules and regulations governing the movement of abnormal loads, and our industry expertise allows us to operate haulage services in the UK, Ireland and throughout Europe. All haulage enquiries received are fully researched, with free impartial advice available at the pre-planning stage, or prior to the movement of loads.
Services

Our fleet of Volvo heavy haulage tractor units all conform to latest Euro5 emission standards making NHL one of the most Eco friendly hauliers in the UK and are maintained by our local Volvo dealer on a full repairs and maintenance contract. In addition, all tractor units are covered by Volvo's Actionline backup, which gives a 24/7 breakdown service. All tractor units are equipped with satellite tracking technology, enabling us to pinpoint their locations throughout the whole of Europe.
Our Depots
read moreOur secure, five acre depot is not only home to the haulage fleet, but also houses the workshop of our in house trailer repair and manufacture service. All our trailers are custom built to ensure they do exactly what our customers need them to do. NHL has two cranes on site and two forklift trucks to facilitate our outside storage and complete receiving, handling & distribution (RH&D) service. We offer a container stuffing and de-vanning service for flat rack, open top and standard G.P. containers.
Alstom Power Generation
read moreOne of our regular contracts is to supply haulage for Liebherr Sunderland Works UK Ltd, who manufacture and supply dock and ship mounted cranes to a worldwide market. Working with Natco AG (the shipping department of Alstom, Switzerland), we recently completed delivery of two component parts of a hub taken from a power plant in Deeside. Due to their nature, both loads posed different logistical problems. As the generator stator grossed in excess of 150 tonnes, we were required to obtain a BE16 Special Order abnormal load permit from the UK Highways Department.
