Heathcote is a small family Prep school in the heart of Danbury village, Essex. We nurture, enrich, challenge, engage and educate pupils from 2-11 years of age. At Heathcote School, we celebrate the whole child whether that be through excellent academic provision (ISI, 2019) or by ensuring that our children are offered a wide range of co-curricular opportunities from Tae Kwando to Chess Club.

read moreHeathcote is a non-selective, independent, co-educational school that welcomes applications from pupils from all social or cultural backgrounds who will profit from the educational opportunities that Heathcote provides and who will contribute fully and enthusiastically to the wider life of the school. Parents are welcome to attend one of our Open Days (please see the website for details) or to telephone the school office to arrange a tour and interview at your convenience. During your tour you will be given the opportunity to speak to pupils and to meet with the Headteacher to discuss your requirements.

At Key Stage One, we provide our children with a smooth transition from Reception into a more formal but nurturing approach to teaching and learning. Following on from the Early Years Foundation Stage, our child-centred approach gives each child a part in shaping their own learning environment.
