read moreThe original Turf Inn was built in 1810, becoming a private residence until 1854 when it was bought by the county. The building proudly housed the West Yorkshire Regiment of Matilda until 1882 when it again passed to private hands. In 1920 it was converted into accommodation for the stable lads and served the turf until it was purchased and converted into The Grand St. Leger Hotel. The Hotel is conveniently located just outside central Doncaster and provides the ideal location when visiting Doncaster whilst on business or for pleasure.
