The club was established in 1893 and in 1908 James Braid (Open Champion five times between 1901 and 1910 and the most sought after golf architect in his day) redesigned the course to basically what you see today. E Brighton provides you a course that rarely closes during the winter, or resorts to temporary greens or tees, due to being built upon chalk subsoil. We pride ourselves with being a friendly and sociable club, with an ambience to compliment the golf. Although blessed with over one hundred years of tradition, with past presidents including dignitaries such as the Marquis of Abergavenny, Earl of Chichester, Field Marshall Earl Haig and the Duke of Norfolk.

About Us
read moreEast Brighton Golf Club has excellent practice facilities including; chipping green, putting green, warm up nets and indoor simulator room for those looking to improve their game. There is a large practice ground at the top of the hill from the Club House. There are targets at 50 yard intervals. Like the course it is possible to hit off the turf all year round, providing better feedback on how you are truly striking the ball. For the short game the chipping area not far from the Club House also has a practice bunker.
Covid-19 Return to Golf
read moreMembers guests & visitors must register and complete the NHS Track & Trace, using the QR Code displayed in the Pro Shop upon check in. Access to locker room/toilets is permitted. Members are required to use membership card for entry and guests/visitors are to ask the pro shop for access. Pre-order from the 9th tee (number provided on tee) and no stopping other than to collect. Anyone not following social distancing measures or not abiding by the guidelines we have in place, may be asked to leave the course.

read moreAt 6,333 yards and with a par of 72, East Brighton presents a genuine challenge for golfers of all handicaps and has a reputation for being a fair test of golf. There is a Halfway House between the 9th green and the 10th tee that serves light refreshments and snacks. Our course is ranked 14th best in Sussex and with continuous course improvements has maintained its reputation as being the destination Golf Club on the south coast.
History
read moreEast Brighton Golf Club is steeped in tradition with many great golfing memories and experience. Past presidents include the Marquis of Abergavenny, the Earl of Chichester, Field Marshall Earl Haig and the Duke of Norfolk. If you take a trip around our Club House you will see many more familiar names on our honours boards. Circa 1890, Mr Steyning Beard, a local landowner received a letter from a Mr Abbey with a request to rent sufficient land for a nine hole course to accommodate 20-30 players at a rental of 15 per annum.
