There are many reasons why homeowners choose to install a dormer in their properties (valuable extra room, additional/natural light source in a loft space) or decide to refurbish an existing dormer, but whatever these are it is imperative that the dormer is of the best quality and installed expertly. A dormer that is poorly built may fail in many ways. If it is of low build quality it may become unsafe after a short period; if put in the wrong place it will speedily become annoying; if it isn't properly insulated on all its surfaces a good deal of heat can be lost through the dormer.
