Chetwynd Bed And Breakfast
Hotel in Wirral, Merseyside
Chetwynd Bed and Breakfast is located in an acre of wooded grounds overlooking the conservation area of Brotherton Woods, part of the Wirral's pretty Dibbin Valley. This area is reputed to be the site of an ancient Viking anchorage. In the centre of the woods is the small well of St Patrick, allegedly found and blessed by the saint before he set sail to Ireland in or around the year 432 AD. Nearby Bromborough, which is a half-mile walk through the woods, is thought by some historians to be the site of the famous battle of Brunanburgh - fought in 937 AD and said to be the bloodiest battle ever fought on English soil.
