She obtained her 1st Bearded Collie over twenty five years ago, a young rescue dog, and fell in love with the looks and personality of the breed. She then bought a dog and a bitch to show, from the famous Sunbree kennel, and as she learnt more about Beardies and the world of dogs she started to breed and show her own Marybank Bearded Collies. She judged at Championship level. Mary decided to leave teaching and make use of her knowledge of dogs and biology. She opened Champion Pet Supplies in a warehouse on an Industrial Estate, supplying mainly kennels and breeders.
