The school opened on this site in 1928 as the Brumby Senior Boys School. In 1929 girls were admitted to the school for one year, before moving to the newly opened Ashby Girls Secondary Modern School. This has since been demolished. Brumby Boys continued through the wars years and beyond, changing in to Brumby Comprehensive School in 1974, when the schools in the town were re-organised. The school has seen many changes through the years since then, with a number of Head teachers, school logos and even the name of the school being altered.
