Shan grew up surrounded by various pets including cats, dogs, goats, rabbits, hamsters, and birds so moving into pet care was a natural progression. Shan is the proud owner of an adopted cat called Eddie who is now aged 14 and treats all of her charges as if they were her own. Katherine cared for various pets whilst growing up including numerous rabbits, dogs, cats and tortoises. She now has two tabby cats called Smudge and Squeaky and two chickens called Blossom and Heartlove (and in case you were wondering - all names were chosen by her 5 year old daughter!

It took time for them to settle down because they were rather nervous. It was of concern to me when the time come for someone else to look after them they would once again, become very nervous. I need not have worried at all, somehow, Shan worked her magic and they became friends instantly. That was eighteen months ago and, judging from the pictures that Shan kindly sends me when away, they look as though that they have not even noticed that I have gone!
