About Us
read moreAvonvale vets have been caring for animals in Warwickshire for over 40 years. We have surgeries in Warwick, Southam, Kenilworth, Wellesbourne, Stratford, Cubbington, and Heathcote. Each surgery is under the care of a senior veterinary surgeon, assisted by a team of qualified and experienced vets and nurses, dedicated to looking after your family pets at a location that is convenient for you. We understand the special relationship that people have with their animals, and are committed to providing the quality of care and individual attention that you would expect for a member of your family.
Key Hole Surgery
read moreNeutering a female dog can either be performed via the traditional method, where the abdomen is opened and the uterus (womb) and ovaries are removed, or using a more minimally invasive approach called laparoscopy. This involves two small incisions made in the skin, through which the instruments and camera are inserted. The ovaries are removed leaving the uterus in place. As with conventional spays, we recommend that this procedure is performed either when your dog is 6 months of age or 2-3 months following a season.
Healthy Pet Clubs
read moreTo join one of our Healthy Pet Clubs you must be a registered client of Avonvale Veterinary Centres. To help you choose the correct club when signing up online please view our weight guidance sheet here.
Nurse Clinics
read moreWe know that obesity can lead to many health conditions that may affect our pet's quality of life, however, it is difficult to know how to help our pets. At our weight management clinics, our nurses will weigh and measure your pet, explain a programme of balanced nutrition and offer sensible tips and advice to help your pet. We offer a comprehensive and effective weight loss programme for those pets whose weight has become a danger to their health. It can also lead to further complications such as heart disease.
Hydrotherapy
read moreAvonvale Hydrotherapy Centre is based at our Wellesbourne Surgery and available to all our clients. Our hydrotherapy unit is part of our all-round package of care for rehabilitation, physiotherapy and well-being. The warm water used in our Hydro-Physio aquatic treadmill relaxes recuperating muscles and promotes blood circulation while encouraging exercise in a supported and controlled environment. Dogs and even cats gain the confidence to strengthen muscles and mobilise joints without experiencing discomfort, resulting in a faster more successful recovery.
Orthopaedics
read moreHere at Avonvale we offer a wide range of orthopaedic services including fracture repairs and cruciate ligament repair. We have vets experienced in advanced surgical techniques so that your pets can be treated at our own surgeries close to home. We are happy to treat most species including dogs, cats, rabbits and birds. All our surgeries are equipped with digital radiography to help with the rapid on site diagnosis of your pet's problem, whether it is a bone fracture or unexplained limping. Our orthopaedic vet Kieran offers many options for dealing with broken bones including pinning, bone plates, and external fixation.
Physiotherapy
read morePhysiotherapy has been found to aid the recovery of pets who have undergone orthopaedic surgery. We recommend a minimum of 4 physiotherapy sessions over an 8 week period, with our specially trained veterinary nurse, Poppy, who will monitor your pet's recovery. She will also teach you Physiotherapy techniques so that you may continue treatment with your pet at home.
