I started drawing when I was 6, and unusually for a young boy, found the time and commitment that becoming a painter requires. I recall my 1st taste of criticism at the age of 7, when I was given constructive feedback on a picture I drew of a sailing ship. I recall my teacher saying, That is really impressive: I love the way you have added so much detail to the sails. This response cemented my dream of pursuing art. My interest in art was given further momentum thanks to the input of my art teacher at school, Mr. Fuller.
