In late 1985 the current managing manager, Brian D G Nokes, laid the foundation for the firm in Datchet near Slough in Berkshire. The 1st laminating and embossing machine suitable for polyolefin foams was purchased to his design and commissioned in a tiny modern industrial unit. The Company manufactured swimming pool cover material which were sold to the UK pool industry for making-up into specific sized covers, which were often sold with a wind-up system by Archbond clients.

As the demand for our products increased, our company and team soon grew out of our original home. So, in 1996 Archbond relocated to a larger site in Leicester, where we still operate from today.
