Various specialist materials are also available, including an 'indestructable' poster paper suitable for posters and banners that require an extended lifespan as well as canvas to be stretched around wooden frames. Posters can also be laminated in gloss or matt finish, or encapsulated for waterproof applications.

For print, produced in large volumes, sheet-fed litho offers a more economical solution as well as being better suited to certain applications such as NCR forms and stationery where a pre-print is required prior to being used in office laser printers (something digital print is not suitable for).
