Ounded by my great grandfather in 1898, Alexander 'Sandy' Burnet left Hawick in Scotland and travelled to London to make his fortune. He worked as a buyer for feathers and fans in a London warehouse. As a young man he was sent to Vienna on a buying trip. He, however had different ideas; he concluded his business with the UK agents and set off to Vienna for a holiday. Unknown to him, his orders were confirmed to his office while he was on holiday.
