New stairs
We ordered a complete new stairs from Abbott-Wade.The fitters arrived and within an hour the old stairs had gone, half an hour later the fitter came in and explained that, due to human error on input to the manufacturing computer, the new stairs had been manufactured to the wrong measurements. They explained they would temporarily fit the stairs and then travel all the way back to the factory in Warrington to pick up the new stairs and fit them the next day. I should say we live in the midlands so Warrington is circa 100 miles one way. True to his word he appeared before 8am the next day with a new set of stairs which were fitted before midday. Everything was carried out with no fuss and they ensured everything was kept as clean as possible.
We did have another small problem which still need solving, namely our old stairs had a normal step at the top leading onto 3 winders and Abbot Wade suggested the new top step should also be a winder thus making a more natural flow when walking up / down. I must say in practice they were right. However when implemented this meant the new winder overhung from the hall ceiling. After a couple of conversations with Abbott Wade they sent in a couple for joiners who did a superb job in boxing in the overhang to make it look as if the staircase had been in place for ever. Finally because we had to have a plasterer in before fitting the beading etc Abbott Wade had to make a third visit before completion.
All the above probably sounds quite a lot of hassle but Abbott Wade and that included everyone I dealt with, were brilliant, nothing was too much trouble and you just new everything was going to be finished to the highest standards. I throughly recommend this company, their friendliness and how they go about solving problems is just amazing and certainly not usual in this day and age. Oh and I haven’t even mentioned the competitive price!

From the first consultation(I won't call it a sales call because I was listened to, not sold to), the survey to the installation by Jake and Mike; I've been delighted. The final design is stunning and installation was fuss free. I'm a very happy customer who's loving my new stairs! Value for Money
