Services
Sash Window Refurbishment
Our sash window refurbishment service combines traditional joinery techniques with modern materials to restore period windows to their original condition. We replace rotten timber with durable Tricoya wood, repair mechanisms, and apply protective coatings that last decades. This service preserves historical authenticity while improving functionality and energy efficiency for Grade 2 listed properties and conservation area buildings.
Double Glazing Retrofit
We install ultra-thin vacuum double glazing into existing sash windows, enhancing thermal efficiency without altering original appearance. Our system maintains the weight balance mechanism while reducing heat loss by up to 80% compared to single glazing. This solution meets modern energy standards while complying with heritage conservation requirements for listed buildings.
Timber Frame Repair
Specialist timber frame repairs address rot damage using durable materials and traditional techniques. We reinforce weakened frames with concealed metal supports and apply protective laminates that extend window lifespan. Our process maintains original dimensions while strengthening structural integrity for period properties requiring sympathetic restoration.
Draught Proofing
Our draught proofing solutions seal gaps in sash windows without compromising historical features. We install discreet compression seals and weather stripping that reduce energy bills by up to 10% while maintaining authentic operation mechanisms. This service works synergistically with double glazing retrofits to maximise thermal efficiency.
Listed Building Restoration
Specialist restoration services for Grade 2 listed properties maintain original character while improving performance. We perform like-for-like repairs using traditional materials and techniques approved by conservation officers. Our methods preserve architectural heritage while enhancing window functionality and energy efficiency through sympathetic modern adaptations.

Chameleon are a fantastic company to deal with. If you have enough sash windows which need refurbishing (there is a minimum order), then I can't recommend them highly enough. The managers are knowledgeable, courteous and professional, and their team of joiners are hard-working, efficient and speedy, so the work itself was remarkably painless. We are delighted with the result.
