Osteopathy
Our osteopathy treatments use soft tissue techniques and joint mobilisation to address musculoskeletal imbalances. Practitioners assess whole-body mechanics to identify root causes of pain, employing gentle manipulations that encourage natural healing processes. This approach benefits patients with back pain, postural issues, and sports injuries through tailored treatment plans that combine hands-on therapy with corrective exercises.
Dynamic Exercise Therapy
This motor control-focused therapy improves movement patterns through targeted exercises. Sessions retrain neuromuscular coordination to enhance stability and prevent injury recurrence. Ideal for athletes and chronic pain sufferers, the programme integrates postural correction with performance enhancement strategies to restore optimal functional capacity across daily activities and sports.
Scoliosis Treatment
Specialised scoliosis management combines Schroth Method techniques with osteopathic assessment. Individualised exercise programmes address spinal asymmetry while manual therapy improves joint mobility. Regular progress monitoring ensures treatment adaptation to evolving postural needs, aiming to reduce curvature progression and improve quality of life for adolescent and adult patients.
Paediatric Assessment
Comprehensive neuro-motor evaluations identify developmental delays in infants and children. Early intervention programmes address movement pattern deficiencies through play-based therapeutic activities. Our approach supports optimal neuromuscular development while providing parental guidance for maintaining progress between clinical sessions.
Low Back Consultation
Three-hour specialist assessments diagnose complex low back conditions using provocative testing to identify pain triggers. Treatment plans combine manual therapy with movement re-education to address both symptoms and biomechanical causes. Follow-up sessions focus on building pain-free movement patterns and strengthening stabilising musculature to prevent recurrence.

We specialise in musculoskeletal conditions including back pain, scoliosis, sports injuries, and chronic pain syndromes. Our treatments address both acute injuries and long-term postural imbalances through integrated osteopathic and rehabilitation approaches.
Do you offer remote consultations?
Yes, we provide remote diagnostic assessments and treatment guidance via secure video conferencing. These sessions include movement analysis, therapeutic exercise instruction, and personalised rehabilitation planning for international patients.
How do I book an appointment?
Bookings can be made through our online scheduling system or by calling our Cambridge clinic directly. First-time patients are advised to select appropriate consultation types based on their condition complexity.
What makes your scoliosis treatment unique?
Our scoliosis management combines Schroth Method techniques with osteopathic assessment, using 3D postural analysis to create individualised exercise programmes. This approach addresses both structural curvature and functional movement patterns affecting spinal health.
Are follow-up sessions necessary?
Follow-up appointments are essential for monitoring progress and adjusting treatment plans. Session frequency depends on individual needs, with complex cases typically requiring weekly or biweekly visits during active rehabilitation phases.

Michael Parr has been helping me to recover from ME using the Perrin Technique. He has, over time, helped me to understand the self-massage routine and provided insight and motivation along the way. I've had incremental improvements over time which have added up to a significant difference. He treats with a high level of conscientiousness and respect for patients.

I have been using Elementary Health services for 10 years now, to manage pain and dysfunction caused by a modern lifestyle (sitting / desk working). For me, having treatment is effective in the prevention of chronic migraine. Michael is exceptional in his field and whilst committed to CPD, his intuitive understanding of the human body is singular. I'm grateful to receive not only treatment, but prescription exercise to take away. Michael's approach is considerate and encouraging but no nonsense, he is an advocate for taking responsibility in the care of our own body.

I've been going to the practice for over a year now and I have certainly seen an improvement in the areas that Michael has been treating. He is knowledgeable, thorough, and will always take the time to listen carefully before offering any advice about next steps. He will also do his best to ensure he is giving you the right treatment for your needs, even if these needs change. I would highly recommend.

I've been seeing Michael at elemental health for 10 months. I travel from Norwich to Cambridge for appointments as my health is worth the cost and effort. He has been treating me for CFS/ME and I'm well on the way to being very much improved. We work as a team effort. He provides me with Perrins Technique lymphatic drainage and osteopathic manipulations and then gives me recommendations and exercises to do at home.
I do my exercises, and self massage every day to get the best from his treatments. I have found Michael easy to work with as he is kind, sympathetic but expects me to do my bit! I've made lots of lifestyle changes to increase my health and Michael is intrinsic in my improvements. I thoughly recommend him.

I'd heartily recommend anyone to see Michael of Elementary Health. He has helped me with back pain, neck tension, headaches and antenatal postural support. He's also been instrumental with helping my 2 year old son work on physical development that he lacked from being a baby. Alongside our NHS physio treatment, Michael has supported us to correct his toe-waking and core deficiencies so he's running, skipping and climbing with his peers. I'd recommend Michael to any parent to get their baby/toddler checked so you can give them the very best start.

Michael helped our son from about 7 months old to 11 months old as he was learning to crawl and walk. He gave us very helpful advice on motor development at this stage and showed us practical exercises we could do with him to help him develop his motor skills in a healthy way and to watch out for compensatory behaviours that can cause problems later in life. He was always gentle and kind with him and used toys and a play mat to interest him and keep him busy as we went through the exercises. I would definitely recommend him to parents looking for physio services for babies and young children particularly with a focus on motor skills.

Don't hesitate to see Michael at Elementary Health. I've been seeing him on and off for several years, mainly for core strengthening, but having shielded through lockdowns I became more physically weak. 4 months ago saw Michael again and started with strengthening exercises. I have several joint replacements, fibromyalgia, osteo and rheumatoid arthritis, developed scoliosis in several parts of my spine and this year a nerve in my spine became trapped causing pain and numbness.
At my next appointment Michael suggested an MRI scan of my spine which my Rheumatology team organised for me and I forwarded the report, which showed the cause, to Michael. My exercises now are designed to support my whole body and straighten my spine. In addition to pain scoliosis caused a 2 inch height loss which I am now regaining at the age of 68! Michael's knowledge of the body is phenomenal, he is always professional but friendly and easy to talk to. Treatment is designed specifically for the problems of each patient, no 'one fits all'. I highly recommend him.

If you are disappointed and frustrated for having constant pain, despite of visiting numerous professionals, this is the place to go. After 24 years of back pain, the solid improvement I have experienced after seeing Michael is considerable. The treatment does not go without challenging exercises sometimes, however, following Michael Parr's advice and treatment have been the best gift to myself in one of the hardest year of all.

Michael Parr is an excellent Osteopath. I have been having treatments from Osteopaths for up to 30 years and Michael is in the top of his class. I really feel that the specific exercises Michael is working on with me to stop the progress of my scoliosis will be beneficial. It was amazing to me to see the photos that Michael takes while I am holding a specific pose that greatly corrects my scoliosis. My spine hasn't looked that straight in years! The goal is that in time, with on-going practice and work my curve will improve.

I warmly recommend Michael. After years of chronic fatigue and health problems, my health is finally improving thanks to Michael's help, using the Perrin Technique. In addition to treating me, he has helped me doing the right changes in my lifestyle to get better. He has suggested things, without imposing them, and always explaining why. I really appreciate that. The Perrin Technique is a major time and money investment, but it is definitely worth it under Michael's care.

I cannot rate Michael highly enough. I've been going to see him for four years to be treated for ME using the Perrin technique. I have recommended him to friends who suffer from ME or other problems which can be solved using osteopathy with absolutely no hesitation. Michael is professional, knowledgeable, helpful, and very patient. I am also a patient of Dr Perrin - the man who developed the Perrin Technique - and I can confirm that Michael's treatment is of the same standard

I would definitely recommend Michael. He has been helping me with a lower back issue since December 2018, He started with an in depth assessment and since then has taught me various exercises to improve and strengthen my core, which has greatly reduced my back pain. In each session he is patient and very clear in his instructions in how to do the exercises. I feel at ease with him, he has a very professional manner and has built my confidence to manage my back health.

I've suffered with M.E. for over five years now. I've tried many other therapies including acupuncture, reflexology, homeopathy, etc but nothing has helped - until I started being treated a year ago by Michael using 'The Perrin Technique' and I'm finally seeing positive results. Michael has great expertise with M.E. and is adept at explaining the condition and how the technique helps. He has a holistic approach to his treatment and so when a long standing leg/hip problem
