Category C Licence
The Category C Licence enables drivers to operate rigid-body vehicles over 3,500kg with trailers up to 750kg. This entry-level qualification prepares trainees for the DVSA practical test through four days of intensive training. Ideal for those seeking immediate employment in sectors like logistics and construction, it opens access to vehicles such as delivery lorries and waste disposal trucks. With strong industry demand, newly qualified drivers can expect starting salaries around 32,000 annually.
Category C+E Licence
The Category C+E Licence qualifies drivers for articulated lorries and drawbar combinations exceeding 3,500kg with trailers over 750kg. This advanced training covers 44-tonne vehicle operations for national and international distribution. With higher earning potential up to 50,000 annually, it's suited for drivers seeking long-haul opportunities. The course includes trailer coupling techniques and advanced manoeuvring skills required for articulated vehicles.
CPC Training
CPC Training ensures compliance with legal requirements for professional HGV drivers. The 35-hour periodic training programme maintains up-to-date knowledge of safety regulations and transport laws. Available through classroom or remote learning, this mandatory qualification must be renewed every five years. Exemptions apply for certain pre-1997 licence holders and non-commercial drivers.
Category C1 Licence
The Category C1 Licence permits operation of medium-sized vehicles between 3,500-7,500kg with trailers up to 750kg. This qualification suits ambulance drivers, delivery personnel, and construction industry operators. Training includes vocational requirements for specialist roles, with earning potential reaching 30,000 annually for experienced professionals. Pre-1997 licence holders require additional CPC training for commercial use.
Combined Training
Combined Training packages deliver both Category C and C+E qualifications in a single programme. This accelerated pathway reduces training time by 20% while maintaining DVSA standards. Ideal for career-focused drivers, it provides full articulation rights for 44-tonne vehicles. The integrated approach ensures seamless progression from rigid-body to articulated vehicle operations, maximising employment opportunities across all haulage sectors.

Firstly, I want to thank my driving instructor Steve, for believing in me even when I doubt myself. Steves teaching style offers a high level of professionalism. The training environment was very friendly too. I've had 17th lessons with Jay and I passed first time with no previous driving experience; he's not an miracle worker but, this guy will give 110% if you apply yourself plus, he makes driving enjoyable; there wasn't a dull moment. If you want to do hgv training and pass first time, call specialists hgv and ask to get Steve for you as your trainer. Highly recommend them for all the efforts they took. Best of luck guys!

Specialised HGV were very helpful and friendly from the start to the end of the training. Couldnt have done it without their help and dedication. All my questions were answered nicely, so I was able to understand everything clearly. Fantastic company to have dealt with and honestly, I would use them again when I come to do my class 1. I passed my class 2 first time and had a job within one month. I do recommend to anybody looking to do this course

Highly recommend specialised Hgv for its training quality!! I had very bad experience with my previous instructor but Carl was very patient, explains clearly. When I started my HGV training in London I had a huge fear, but with few one to one lessons Carl managed to boost my confidence. He is very genuine. I passed with just 2minors. The recruitment team also got me a job interview. So Im very happy - full value for money!!

A massive massive thanks to Oliver for getting the deal for me and arranging the training right on time.. specialised hgv youre a beauty. Patric my dedicated instructor was right on top of everything, his guidance was just too good. He is a perfect teacher. I must admit I have companies offering cheap training but but but with little more if you get this level of service and training its worth it.

They had even extended my training and termed as free. Even the bookings was taken care of and confirming via text and email when I was out of coverage.. this is just a different level of service.. take a blow guys, you deserve it!! I will come back again for my class 1 later this year. Definitely recommend them to anyone who wants to be a lorry driver.
