Veterinary Care in Rugby & Warwick
Animal House Veterinary Surgery has been providing veterinary care since 2005, founded by Hugh and Theresa Duffin. Initially serving both small and large animals, the practice transitioned to focus exclusively on small animals in recent years. Since 2019, we have operated as part of the IVC Evidensia group, the UK's largest veterinary practice network, while maintaining our local identity. Led by Clinical Director Dr Victoria West and Practice Manager Jenni Humphreys, our team of veterinary surgeons, nurses, and support staff prioritises compassionate care, treating every animal as if it were our own.We invest in continuous professional development, with vets completing at least 35 hours of training annually, and hold specialisms in medicine, emergency care, laparoscopy, and exotics. Our commitment to continuity ensures clients can see the same vets or nurses at each visit. We transparently discuss treatment options, costs, and preventative care through our Pet Health Club, which offers budget-friendly healthcare plans. Our practice combines modern facilities with a dedication to community service, including care for strays and wildlife.

K-Laser Therapy
K-Laser Therapy uses photobiomodulation to accelerate healing, reduce pain and inflammation, and improve circulation. Our certified team applies specific wavelengths to treat conditions like arthritis, wounds, and post-surgical recovery. Treatment sessions typically last under 8 minutes with no sedation required, offering a non-invasive option for chronic and acute conditions.
Laparoscopic Neutering
Minimally invasive laparoscopic spaying removes only the ovaries through two small incisions, reducing pain and recovery time. This advanced technique offers faster healing (5-day recovery vs 10-14 days) and lower complication risks compared to traditional methods. Available for most female dogs except very small or overweight patients.
Pet Vaccinations
Core vaccinations protect against life-threatening diseases like distemper, parvovirus, and feline leukaemia. Our tailored programmes include puppy/kitten courses, annual boosters, and travel vaccinations. Each appointment includes a full health check and lifestyle-based recommendations to ensure optimal protection for pets of all ages.
Emergency Care
24/7 emergency services provided through our partnership with Vets Now. Critical care available for trauma, poisoning, and acute illnesses outside normal hours. Daytime emergencies receive immediate in-house assessment, with access to diagnostic tools and specialist surgical interventions when required.
Pet Wellness Screening
Comprehensive annual health assessments for mature pets, including blood/urine tests, joint evaluation, and organ function checks. Early detection of conditions like kidney disease and arthritis enables timely intervention. Recommended yearly for cats over 7, dogs over 5, and giant breeds from age 3.
