Handcrafted Bespoke Kitchens in Herefordshire
Established in 1989, Harrison & Pope is a family-run business specialising in the design, crafting, and installation of bespoke handmade kitchens. Our journey began in a converted Welsh chapel, where our founders combined traditional cabinet-making techniques with artistic vision. Over three decades, we have refined our processes, blending time-honoured craftsmanship with modern precision to create kitchens that balance functionality and elegance. Our team of skilled designers, cabinetmakers, and finishers work collaboratively with clients to translate individual needs into enduring spaces. Every kitchen is constructed using premium materials, including furniture-grade birch ply, solid tulip wood, and eco-friendly water-based paints. Our workshops in Herefordshire remain at the heart of our operations, ensuring meticulous attention to detail from initial consultation to final installation. We prioritise durability, with features like dovetailed drawers and lacquered carcasses designed to withstand a lifetime of use. Our commitment to innovation is matched by our respect for heritage, ensuring each kitchen reflects both contemporary lifestyles and classic English design principles. Customer satisfaction is central to our ethos, with a process that includes home visits, detailed planning, and transparent communication. As a result, we have built a reputation for creating spaces that are not only beautiful but also deeply personal and practical.

Bespoke Kitchen Design
Our bespoke kitchen design service tailors spaces to individual needs, blending functionality with aesthetic appeal. We collaborate closely with clients to create layouts that optimise workflow and storage. Each design incorporates premium materials and craftsmanship for lasting durability.
Handmade Cabinets
Crafted from solid tulip wood and furniture-grade birch ply, our handmade cabinets combine strength with elegance. Traditional joinery techniques ensure longevity, while dovetailed drawers and lacquered carcasses provide resilience against daily wear.
Freestanding Units
Freestanding units add versatility to kitchen layouts, serving as islands, larders, or display dressers. Available in custom paint finishes, they break linear designs and introduce bold colour contrasts while maintaining practical storage solutions.
Worktops
We offer a range of worktop materials, including solid wood, granite, and engineered stone. Each option is selected for durability and aesthetics, ensuring surfaces that withstand heat, moisture, and daily use without compromising style.
Hand Painting
Our hand-painting process uses eco-friendly water-based paints to achieve a durable, lustrous finish. With a wide spectrum of colours, we ensure cabinetry complements both traditional and contemporary interiors while adhering to environmental standards.

Report
We had always admired the Harrison and Pope kitchen studio in Hay on Wye, so when we took on the restoration of a country house there was only one place that we wanted to design and make the kitchen. Lou and Phil have a vast amount of knowledge and design experience. The meetings were held at their larger showroom in Herefordshire. The whole process was very efficient from start to finish. Nothing was ever too much trouble.
The final result was that the kitchen is everything we dreamed it would be, with outstanding craftsmanship and impeccable design. The kitchen fitters were also fantastic. They take a real pride in their work. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Harrison and Pope, in fact we are now working on another kitchen with them for another part of the house.
