Services
Wing Chun Training
Structured Wing Chun instruction following the traditional Ip Man lineage. Classes focus on core components including empty hand forms, wooden dummy techniques, and weapons training. Our system develops practical self-defence capabilities through principles of economy of movement, directness, and efficiency. Suitable for adults and accompanied children from age 10, with adaptable training methods for varying physical conditions.
Chi Sau Drills
Specialised sensitivity training to develop reflexive responses and tactile awareness. Chi Sau (sticky hands) drills enhance students' ability to neutralise attacks through controlled contact and energy redirection. This core Wing Chun practice builds intuitive defensive capabilities without reliance on visual cues, crucial for real-world self-protection scenarios.
Weapons Training
Traditional Wing Chun weapons instruction covering Bart Cham Dao (butterfly knives) and long pole techniques. Training focuses on maintaining proper body mechanics while extending striking range and force application. Weapon forms integrate seamlessly with empty-hand principles, enhancing overall martial arts proficiency and understanding of Wing Chun's complete system.
Self-Defence Techniques
Practical self-defence applications derived from Wing Chun's core principles. Training addresses real-world scenarios through structured drills that develop situational awareness and effective response strategies. Techniques prioritise rapid threat neutralisation while minimising personal risk, suitable for all ages and physical abilities without requiring athletic prowess.
Private Tuition
Personalised instruction tailored to individual learning needs and progression rates. Private sessions complement group classes by addressing specific technical challenges and providing focused feedback. Available for students seeking accelerated learning or those requiring adapted training due to physical limitations or scheduling constraints.

Report
Somerset Wing Chun Club is a fantastic place to train. Sifu Bill is incredibly knowledgeable and does an excellent job of making Wing Chun accessible to students of all levels. Steve and Dan, the senior instructors, are highly skilled, supportive, and always willing to help. The club has a friendly atmosphere, great instruction, and a strong focus on both traditional Wing Chun and practical self-defence. Highly recommended to anyone looking to learn and develop their skills.
