Professional Rugby at Sixways Stadium
Established in 1871, Worcester Rugby Football Club has grown from its humble beginnings into a prominent rugby institution. Our club was founded by Rev Francis John Eld and played its inaugural match against the Royal Artillery Rugby Club. Despite facing significant challenges including disbandment in 1896 and wartime interruptions, we have maintained an unbroken commitment to rugby excellence. Through the 20th century, we developed competitive teams and secured grounds at Claines, Perdiswell, and Bilford Road before establishing our current home at Sixways Stadium. Our rich history combines resilience with progressive development, creating a legacy that continues to inspire both players and supporters. We take pride in nurturing local talent while competing at the highest levels of professional rugby. Our community engagement programs extend our impact beyond the pitch, fostering grassroots participation and lifelong connections. With a dedicated team of professionals and passionate supporters, we continue to build on our 150-year heritage while embracing modern rugby's evolving demands.
