Premier Karate Training in Liverpool | Childwall Goju-Ryu Karate Dojo
Childwall Goju-Ryu Karate Dojo has been dedicated to teaching traditional Okinawan Goju-Ryu karate in Liverpool for over three decades. Founded by Sensei Roy Flatt, an 8th Dan IOGKF with 35 years of martial arts experience, we provide structured training that develops physical fitness, discipline, and effective self-defence skills. Our curriculum encompasses Kihon (basics), Kata (forms), Kumite (sparring), and Hojo Undo (supplementary training), ensuring students progress from fundamental techniques to advanced mastery. As one of Liverpool's leading karate centres, we host regular training events and welcome both children and adults to experience our open-doors dojo. Our affiliation with the English Goju-Ryu Karate-do Association (EGKA) and International Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate-Do Federation (IOGKF) underscores our commitment to preserving authentic martial arts principles.

With classes led by highly qualified instructors, including Shihan Roy Flatt and assistant instructors, we foster a supportive environment where students cultivate mental resilience alongside physical prowess. Our training methodology, refined through decades of practice, ensures technical precision and gradual progression, enabling students to achieve black belt status through rigorous dedication. Located at Gateacre School Dance Studio, we maintain flexible training schedules across multiple venues, including Wirral, to accommodate diverse learner needs. By combining traditional techniques with modern teaching approaches, we ensure karate remains accessible and transformative for all participants. Our dojo's reputation as a centre of excellence reflects our unwavering dedication to martial arts education and community engagement.
