Established in 2002, Yamakai Karate is dedicated to the practice and teaching of Shindo Jinen Ryu Karate-Do, a martial art rooted in the principles of moral integrity and natural movement. Founded by Sue Sylvester and Stephen Marriott, the dojo initially operated as Silsoe Karate Club before rebranding in 2004. Our philosophy, inspired by Yasuhiro Konishi Soke, emphasizes that disciplined karate training fosters a morally grounded life. Affiliated with the Japan Karate-Do Ryobukai (JKR) since 2015, we uphold traditional techniques while adapting to modern needs.
