The Wingfield School Of Ballet And Dance - Dance Classes in Bristol
Established in 1979, The Wingfield School Of Ballet And Dance has been a cornerstone of dance education in Bristol and South Gloucestershire for over four decades. Founded by Pamela and Melvyn Wingfield, the school was later led by Stephanie Germanis from 2015 to 2022 before passing to Principal Katie Kettle, a graduate of the school herself. Our curriculum spans RAD Ballet, ISTD Tap & Modern, Musical Theatre, Acrobatic Arts, and Contemporary, catering to students aged 3 to adults. We prioritise safe, professional instruction, preparing pupils for graded examinations while fostering creativity and self-expression. Our faculty, including designated safeguarding lead Katie Kettle, brings extensive experience and a commitment to inclusivity, ensuring dance remains accessible to all.

Over the years, our alumni have pursued successful careers in dance, from joining professional companies to qualifying as teachers themselves. With classes across Little Stoke, Bradley Stoke, and Winterbourne, we continue to inspire the next generation of dancers. Our biennial 'Showcase' provides students with the thrill of performing in full-scale productions, creating lasting memories. We believe every student is a 'pocket of stardust' waiting to shine, combining technical excellence with joy in every lesson. This philosophy has cemented our reputation as a trusted institution in the local community.

Acrobatic Arts classes combine flexibility, strength, and tumbling techniques suitable from age 4+. The curriculum focuses on safe progression through skill-based levels while enhancing dance performance capabilities. This style complements other dance disciplines offered at the school.
Musical Theatre
Musical Theatre classes integrate singing, acting, and dance techniques to develop stage performance skills. Designed for ages 4+, these sessions enhance storytelling abilities and stage presence. Training includes repertoire from popular stage productions and ensemble work.
Adult Dance
Adult Ballet and Tap classes provide accessible dance opportunities for mature students. Sessions focus on technique refinement, physical fitness, and creative expression. These classes cater to both recreational dancers and those with prior experience.
