Welcome to Illingworth Moor Methodist Church
Illingworth Moor Methodist Church has served the Halifax community since 1800, offering worship, community engagement, and inclusive spaces for all. Our congregation continues the legacy of John Wesley's teachings through modern, accessible services and outreach programs. We prioritise environmental stewardship by reducing grass cutting to support local wildlife and wildflowers. Our facilities include a historic main hall, meeting rooms, and a fully equipped kitchen available for hire. The church hosts diverse activities including the 'Good as New Shop', community caf, youth groups, and social initiatives like The Thursday Group and The Shed at the Moor.Rev. Tony Morling leads our spiritual community, supported by Children and Schools Worker Tracy Brennan, who coordinates school programs and family worship. We maintain accessibility with disabled facilities and provide transparent communication through Tracy Brennan, our central contact. Our 2005 remodeled building combines historical significance with contemporary functionality, preserving elements like the organ 'Sarah' from 1888. Regular events include Boys' and Girls' Brigades, Messy Church gatherings, and cultural heritage projects. This commitment to tradition and innovation makes us a cornerstone of Calderdale's spiritual and social landscape.
