Welcome to Walsgrave Baptist Church
Established in 1840, Walsgrave Baptist Church has served as a cornerstone of the Walsgrave and wider Coventry community for over 180 years. Our mission is to foster a Christ-centred environment where individuals of all ages and backgrounds can connect with faith, build meaningful relationships, and contribute to community well-being. Through weekly Sunday services starting at 10:30am, children's activities, and a diverse calendar of weekday events, we strive to create an inclusive space for spiritual growth and communal support. Our leadership team, including Pastors Dave and Amy Barker, works tirelessly to maintain our commitment to local outreach, operating under the Baptist Union of Great Britain's policies while tailoring our approach to meet contemporary needs. The church's physical presence on Hinckley Road, with accessible facilities and adaptable spaces, reflects our dedication to serving both regular attendees and those seeking temporary support. We actively collaborate with local organisations like Walsgrave Health Centre to expand our impact, offering programmes such as Time Together and Muddy Church that blend spiritual exploration with practical community engagement. Our recent transition to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (Charity No: 1194132) demonstrates our ongoing commitment to structured, accountable service delivery while maintaining the warmth and accessibility that have defined our congregation for generations.

We offer flexible venue hire options including our main sanctuary (160 capacity), community hall (100 capacity), and smaller meeting rooms. Facilities include modern kitchen access, parking availability, and adaptable spaces suitable for community events, exercise groups, or private functions throughout the week.
Community Groups
A variety of weekly groups cater to different age ranges and interests, from youth programmes to senior citizen meetups. These gatherings focus on building relationships, providing pastoral care, and addressing local needs through practical initiatives like our Time Together partnership with Walsgrave Health Centre.
Children's Activities
Age-specific activities run concurrently with Sunday services, including Muddy Church sessions that combine outdoor learning with biblical teachings. Our child-friendly programmes use creative approaches to engage young minds while supporting parents' participation in main services.
Prayer Meetings
Regular prayer sessions provide opportunities for personal reflection and communal intercession. These meetings, often held in our dedicated prayer room, form an essential spiritual foundation for our church activities and community outreach efforts.
