Welcome to St Albans Catholic Church in Derby
St Albans Catholic Church has served the communities of Chaddesden, Derwent, and Oakwood for over six decades. As a parish within the Nottingham Diocese, we prioritise creating an inclusive environment where all individuals feel valued and respected. Our mission focuses on active Christian witness through meaningful liturgy, sacramental preparation, and community engagement. We maintain strong partnerships with neighbouring parishes while developing outreach programs for young people, families, and vulnerable members of our congregation. Through regular Mass celebrations, faith development initiatives, and social events, we strive to make our church a spiritual home for everyone in our catchment area.

The 10:30am Sung Mass at St. Alban's features choir-led worship and children's liturgy programs.
Sacrament of Reconciliation
We provide regular opportunities for the Sacrament of Reconciliation, with weekly sessions and flexible appointment options. Our priests offer spiritual guidance and support for personal growth through this important sacrament of healing and renewal.
Marriage Preparation
Our comprehensive marriage preparation program includes pastoral guidance and Marriage Care counseling. We support couples through six months of preparation, helping them understand the sacramental nature of marriage and build strong foundations for their future together.
Youth Groups
We offer age-appropriate liturgical experiences and youth groups for children and young people. Our programs help develop faith understanding while fostering intergenerational connections through special events and service opportunities.
Safeguarding Programs
Our parish maintains rigorous safeguarding standards following national Church policies. We provide safe environments for children and vulnerable adults through DBS-checked volunteers, trained representatives, and clear reporting procedures aligned with diocesan guidelines.
