Antique Furniture Restoration in Norwich
Kirstead Antique Restoration has been dedicated to the meticulous restoration and conservation of antique furniture for decades. Our expertise spans vernacular and ordinary items, with a focus on preserving historical integrity while ensuring durability. Trained by Spink and Sons, our lead restorer Dermot works closely with antique dealers, country houses, and private clients nationwide. We employ traditional materials and unique methodologies to achieve natural finishes, avoiding modern revivers that compromise longevity. Our approach includes replacing missing components without disturbing original patina, using period-appropriate veneers, and hand-dyeing Moroccan leather for upholstery. Collaborations with specialists like carvers and gilders, alongside an extensive research library, enable us to tackle complex restoration challenges. The Hall itself, a Grade I listed Elizabethan manor, serves as both a family home and a living testament to our commitment to heritage preservation.
