Welcome to Harefield Church
Harefield Church was established in 1954 as part of Harlow's new town development. We are an independent Christian church where faith intersects with real life, welcoming people from all walks of life. Our mission is God-given: to share Jesus' love through worship, community engagement, and spiritual growth opportunities. We believe in transformative faith experiences that empower individuals to live purposefully through God's spirit. Our inclusive environment caters to all ages, offering dedicated children's programs, youth groups, and adult connect groups. With wheelchair accessibility, hearing aid loops, and crche facilities, we prioritise practical support through initiatives like Harlow Foodbank and Bump to Five. Our Sunday services combine worship with coffee fellowship, creating space for meaningful connections. As a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) registered with number 1149323, we maintain transparency in all operations while focusing on community impact through worship and witness.

Services
Sunday Worship
Our Sunday morning worship gatherings combine contemporary Christian music, relevant Bible teaching, and opportunities for spiritual reflection. Starting at 11:00am with pre-service coffee from 10:30am, these services create space for both worship and community connection. The service format typically includes worship songs, scripture readings, and a 45-60 minute sermon exploring biblical themes relevant to modern life.
Baptism Services
We offer baptism as a public declaration of faith following personal transformation through Jesus. These special services provide opportunity for believers to demonstrate their commitment through full immersion in water, following biblical tradition. Baptism ceremonies usually occur quarterly and include personal testimonies explaining each individual's faith journey and decision to follow Christ.
Children's Groups
Age-appropriate programs operate during Sunday services for children aged 0-12 years. The crche room with live service broadcast accommodates pre-schoolers, while four structured groups engage older children through interactive Bible teaching, crafts, and games. All activities follow safeguarding protocols with trained volunteers, ensuring safe environments for learning and social development.
Community Support
Through initiatives like Harlow Foodbank and Bump to Five, we provide practical support to local families in need. Our community programs address both material needs and social isolation through food distribution, parenting support, and school partnerships. Volunteers work with local agencies to ensure holistic assistance while maintaining dignity and respect for all recipients.
Connect Groups
Weekly small groups meet in homes, church premises, and online platforms to foster deeper relationships and spiritual growth. These gatherings combine informal discussion with Bible study, prayer, and mutual support. Topics vary from book studies to practical Christian living, with flexible formats including daytime, evening, and Zoom options to accommodate different schedules.
