Just passed my test after having 25 hours with Kevin, so so happy! ?Kevin took me from someone who had never even touched a car pedal, to a confident and independent driver. Can't wait to get myself a car and put into practice all that I've learnt!

If your looking for an instructor who will put 100% into getting you that pass, then Kevin is your man. He paid attention to every little detail and took the lessons at my pace and got me that pass, a real genuine guy.
Really enjoyed my time learning to drive with Kevin. Lessons were always fun, informative and productive. Kevin was always more than happy to answer any questions I had and go over anything I was unsure about. His patient demeanour definitely helped and I would definitely recommend him to anyone.
I had a goal of passing my driving test before I turned 18 and Kevin helped me achieve this and made it seem easy. His teaching style helped me to learn better and understand things quickly. I passed after 28 hours, 3 months before my 18th birthday! Recommend Kevin to anyone looking to learn to drive, you won't regret it.
PASSED 1st time at Speke with Kevin as my instructor all along the way and I couldn’t recommend him enough to anybody wanting the best possible chance at passing.
Never late to a single lesson and he’s so thorough with how he approaches his teaching. Kevin doesn’t just teach you how to pass. He teaches you how to be a safe and sensible driver for the rest of your life!
I’d also like to mention that the lessons never just stopped when you got out of the car. Kevin sent me countless pieces of information every week with help and advice on how to improve and prepare myself for any future lessons and the test.

Having had not such a good experience learning to drive with another company, I found Kevin after he was recommended to my from a friend. My lessons with Kevin were so much better from the word go, he explained things more clearly and was patient. Before I switched to Kevin I hated learning to drive, but after a few lessons and Kevin helping to build my confidence up I really started to love driving. Thank you so much Kevin :)

Haven't got a bad word to say about Kevin and my experience learning to drive with him. He was always on time, patient, friendly and could have a laugh during lessons which made it a fun experience. Always left lessons feeling like I'd got the most out of my time and had learnt lots. I found the driving manual to be really helpful to get myself ready before each lesson. Thanks Kevin!
Thanks to Kevin I am now the proud owner of a driving licence and have just been out to buy my new car. Lessons were enjoyable and I looked forward to them and seeing what new things I would learn. If you want to learn with the best driving instructor and pass quickly and first time, Kevin is the instructor for you. I passed after 20 hours, first time with only 3 minors. Wouldn't have got the same results with anyone else, he really is an A* instructor. Cheers.
Highly recommend Kevin to anyone looking for an instructor you can rely on and who won't waste your time. I passed after 22 hours! Some of my friends learning with other driving schools took +35 hours of lessons so I know this is pretty good and it's down to Kevin's brilliant teaching!
I started learning to drive quite late on in life and thought maybe I had left it too late. Kevin quickly made me realise this wasn't the case and I could do it. I had 32 hours with Kevin and passed my driving test 2nd time after failing with another driving school. So pleased with my experience, only wish I'd found driveJohnson's sooner!
Really good driving instructor who helped me learn fast and pass my driving test quickly. I already had my test booked when I came to Kevin and had been let down by an instructor at another driving school. Kevin is a fantastic driving instructor who knows his stuff. Kevins passion for teaching to drive really shines through in his teaching and rubs off on you. Very good driving instructor he made me feel at ease from the start. I had done lessons with a different instructor but never felt confidant enough to go for my test. Had a great way of explaining things and helping me gain my confidence, he encouraged me to apply for my test which i passed. I would definitely recommend as a driving instructor if u want results and a bit of banter along the way
If you are on a Norris Green test route and are directed to go up Carisbrooke Road (near Goodison Park), and directed to turn right at the end of the road, make sure you position yourself fully on the right side of the road, as this is a one-way system. Many have been caught out here as the road layout makes it look like a two-way road with bollards separating the road at the junction at the top. Your instincts will want you to stay on the left, but you must resist this and stay right.

When you are on the independent driving part of the test, it's common to miss your mirrors and signalling when listening to and following the satnav. Remember, every time you hear a new direction, be prepared to check your mirrors and put a signal on if needed.

We don’t use trainee driving instructors in Liverpool like some of the national companies out there. We have a handful instructors covering Liverpool and between them they have over 50 years in the industry. One of our instructors the mighty Kevin Hale has been an instructor for over 30 years and yep, you’ve guessed it he’s a top Grade A too!
We have instructors ranging from 30 years old up to 60 years old.
Yes they do. Obviously we are passionate about safe driving for life, but there’s nothing better than taking a test and knowing what to expect. It just makes sense to show you as many test routes as possible (in the available time) whilst teaching and improving your driving too. So killing to two birds with one stone, so to speak.
In an ideal world, choose the test centre closest to where you live. By doing this you will be able to get more for your money as there will be less travelling to the test centre area. Our instructors will endeavour to keep you practising in the test centre area of your choice so you can grasp those tricky junctions sooner rather than later. Whatever you do, don’t choose a random test centre which you haven’t been practising in or that is out of the city if you can help it!

In the UK, you can start learning to drive at the age of 17 as long as you have a valid UK provisional driving licence. As long as you have this, you can start learning the minute you turn 17 if you're super keen. We also offer driving lessons for those under the age of 17 with our under 17's driving courses.
At this moment in time, we are unable to offer automatic driving instructors in Liverpool, however, we have some fantastic instructors providing manual lessons. There are many benefits to learning to drive a manual over an automatic vehicle, so we highly recommend all our pupils start off in a manual and see how they get on.
Living and working in two separate locations is very common for people these days, and this is something that we see every day. Due to this request being so frequent, you do have a couple of options to choose from.
Firstly you could decide to take your driving lessons in Liverpool or Crewe, depending on where you spend more time. However, if you believe that your time will be better on your commute, you can arrange to begin your lessons in one location and finish in another. For this, you can arrange with your instructors to begin either on your way to work or after work. If you choose this option, we will make sure that you get the best service and the most out of your lesson time.
