Test tip of the month for Aylesbury

You have a 1 in 4 chance of being asked to do the emergency stop. If you are asked to do this, the examiner will explain this to you when the car is stationary. You will most likely notice your examiner looking over their shoulder when the car is moving. This is to double-check it’s safe, so be ready. When they look over their shoulder, they are about to ask you to stop!

Useful driving test tip for Aylesbury

If the examiner asks you to pull up on the right at a safe place, take your time. Don't rush trying to get over on the right until you are 100% sure you have identified a safe place. Keep checking your interior mirror as well. Naturally, you may come off the gas a bit as you are looking for somewhere to pull up. If you are slowing down, then vehicles might start following closer or try to pass you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you cover any areas around Aylesbury?

Yes we cover many of the areas surrounding Aylesbury, including providing driving lessons in Leighton Buzzard, Stoke Mandeville, Aston Clinton and Haddenham. Our driving instructors are flexible with pick up and drop off locations

With the recent closure of the High Wycombe drivng test centre Aylesbury will see more learner drivers taking their driving tests in Aylesbury, we have instructors who are willing to cover both areas providing suitable driving test date/time notice is given

Where will I learn when I start learning to drive?

Starting to drive can be nerve-racking, especially if you have never driven before. However, all of our instructors know the ideal spots for you to learn depending on your skill level.

When you begin, you will start in quiet areas with wide roads with little to no traffic. Some places you can expect to be taken to include the industrial area on Smeaton Close, Rabans Close, Edison Road and Cavendish Way.

What do I need to learn when I am almost ready for my test?

When it comes to approaching your test, you will begin to see more and more complex manoeuvres and road layouts. The reason we tackle these last is to make sure you not only have the basics, but you are also confident in your driving.

Some things that you will begin to cover is tackling the A418, the triple roundabouts located on the A418 and the A41. These are all things that your instructor will tell you before you attempt any of them, and they will make sure you are confident about these situations.

What places can I go to practice?

When it comes to practising outside of your lesson this will help you improve your driving but it is not possible for everyone. It will help you boost your ability and get you to be test ready sooner for those who can.

If you want to practice basic driving techniques, turning, and parallel parking, a great place to practice is down Napier Road. Napier Road is a great location as it connects several roads allowing you to mix up your practices whilst learning in a quiet area.
