Anne Gale School of Dance

Excellent training in dance for children of all ages

About image
We pride ourself on the excellent training in dance that the students receive whilst attending classes with us. It has been an established school in Luton for over fifty years and now also holds classes in Milton Keynes, Stewartby and Knowle. More information about these venues can be found on our ‘locations’ page.

Examinations
Pupils come to the school to enjoy dancing and to train according to the syllabi of the ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing). The School teaches Ballet, Modern, Tap, National, Greek, Commercial Hip Hop, Heels and Street dance. Examinations with the ISTD are available to be taken on a regular basis so that teachers and parents can assess progress and be rewarded for their hard work.
Examination results have been consistently high with the great majority gaining Distinction.

Competitions
Many pupils also take part in local and national festivals and competitions across the country, including So You Want To Dance, the prestigious All England Dance Competition and the Dance World Cup. Many of our dancers have qualified their dances into the All England Dance Finals which is held in London’s prestigious west end, every two years. Children will be selected to take part in competitive festivals by the principal, taking into consideration general progress during class as well as other factors.

Other performance opportunities
Children from the school are often asked to take part in many performances in surrounding areas. This includes professional christmas pantomimes produced by Pantoni, Duo Entertainment and Upstage Productions. As a school we encourage our dancers to audition for shows regularly so that they get the performance experience, which is necessary in this business. Aside from this; we hold an annual school show enabling all members of the school from aged 3+ to perform on stage.
Children from the school have successfully auditioned for West End productions and go on to dance on cruise lines around the world.
