Our flexible curriculum is child-led, inspiring, creative and meaningful, our team highly qualified and experienced. We are passionate about learning and are determined to give our children the best opportunities possible. Our home-from-home rooms and family ethos ensure children feel safe, secure and valued. In such a warm, nurturing environment, children are happy, confident and ready to learn. We tailor make each child’s learning to suit their needs, and therefore we soon see their independence and love of learning grow. Our nursery is a loving and stimulating community where children are encouraged to respect one another, as well as the world around them.

Start Your Child's Journey to School
Here in the busy, interactive world of Orchidale Nursery, your child will be immersed in the social whirl of the under-fives. They’ll create firm bonds of friendship and learn how to resolve conflicts, as well as understand how to follow gentle instruction. These social skills, when mixed with the building blocks of learning they receive at Orchidale, ensure all our children are well-prepared for starting school and can flourish there.
A little about Orchidale Children's Nursery...
Orchidale Children's Nursery is an excellent day nursery in the pretty village of Taverham, just 15 minutes from Norwich, with places for children from the age of 2 months to 5 years. We can ensure your child’s days with us are fun-filled and full of activities that encourage both learning and friendships. At Orchidale, we promote healthy living – our children have a nutritious, home-cooked meal every day; we also place huge emphasis on exercise and the great outdoors – our large green garden has superb outdoor learning facilities, which the children can’t wait to explore!

We are always increasing our fun for children and have now added to our great outdoor spaces for Forest School. We are lucky to have our beautiful Shepherds Huts and also our Yurt to explore as part of our outdoor space. We also have our very own rabbits and bantams- which children learn to take care of , in addition to this we have a beautiful aquarium in our 0-2 room with bright colourful fish - perfect with a calming sensory experience.
​We also have 2 brand new Minibuses and in addition to our Woodland Club plan several weekly adventures to explore the local area in small groups . We love to visit the local farm shops to buy seasonal goods and to try new produce, our local shops for ingredients for Cooking club , local charity shops - to find treasures to explore and curiosities, the vets and pet shop to get supplies for our nursery pets. Redwings Horse sanctuary, the recycling centre, local parks and woodlands and have links with a local care home as well.
We are delighted to announce that after our recent inspection, we are now rated 'Outstanding' by Ofsted!

Come and see us! We understand that finding the right childcare can be a very emotional decision for any parent or carer, and we are happy to show you around. We are open 51 weeks, 7.30am - 6.00pm of the year. We do have a waiting list and we attribute this to our inspiring provision, but we will do our absolute best to suit your needs.
