Welcome to Saint Laurence’s
A very warm welcome to you if you are new to the Parish, or just visiting ― in person or through our web site. We hope that you will be very happy at Saint Laurence’s and will feel at home in our worship and all the activities that take place here.
Saint Laurence’s is one of three Catholic Parishes in Cambridge, and is part of the Diocese of East Anglia.
This web site contains details of all Parish Groups and activities. If you would like a visit to your home for any reason, please just ask at the Presbytery at any time.
With every blessing and best wishes,
Fr Simon Blakesley
Parish Priest
Latest on Mass Arrangements
We are pleased to have returned to near-normal liturgies following many months of Covid-affected Mass arrangements. The church is also now open as normal for individual prayer.
We continue to follow Covid protocols for the distribution of communion. We aim to keep the church ventilated. We do not require face coverings, but we welcome all who wish to continue wearing them. Where possible, we suggest maintaining some space between groups seated in the same bench and avoiding kneeling immediately behind someone who is seated. For quieter Masses where social distancing is easier, we recommend the 6pm Sunday vigil, 8am Sunday Mass, or any weekday Mass.
Please do not come to church if you have any Covid symptoms. All Masses continue to be available through Live Streaming.
For more information, see our Church Reopening and Covid-19 Updates page.
We are able to take one-off donations by credit or debit card through Dona, an organisation recommended by the Diocese. Please click HERE to make a donation.
For the regular collection, other donations, Mass stipends, etc, our bank details are:
Account name: | St Laurences Church |
Sort Code: | 09-01-53 |
Account Number: | 14255486 |
Gift Aid: If you are a UK tax payer, and have not already signed up for the Gift Aid scheme, please consider doing so HERE. This allows the church to claim back the tax you have paid on any donations, at no extra cost to you.
The latest edition of The Pilgrim (our parish magazine), and many of the previous editions, is available to read here.

News
The Milton Road works are affecting access to the church car park and some neighbouring roads. Vehicle access to Ascham Road from Milton Road has been closed for some time, and we have just been informed that there will be overnight closures affecting access to the car park during Holy Week. This means access for Maundy Thursday Mass will be affected. Please allow plenty of extra time for your journey, as you may need to park some distance away.
We are kicking off 2024 by inviting all parishioners to become involved in our new arrangements for managing and organising Parish life.
The Catholic Church in England and Wales has published a statement on the report from the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse. Please see our Safeguarding page for this and updated information about safeguarding in the parish.
