He learned the restaurant trade in London at Group Chez Gerard, Jardin Des Gourmet, Pont de la tour, Meridien Waldorf and the St James Park Hotel. Arno worked at the Hyatt Hotel and Hotel Montalembert in Paris and ran Salisbury's Haunch
